You Are Where
Not a question. A statement. A fact of being.
I’ve always loved the Rumi quote, “Wherever you are, be the soul of that place,” though I think I hear it differently than others. Where they interpret it as an invitation to extraversion and engagement, I feel it as relationship with where, I am part of place, of ecosystem.
I struggle with the current trend of embodiment, because it feels fake, rushed, predetermined. Em- means to put into. Im- means in. Imbody. It’s already there. I don’t make it be. I bring my awareness to it imbeing.
Wherever I am, I am implace.
I’ve been working on a new creative project and doing so much writing with place-space as Body. We are Here. Be the soul of Place. Body is location. Location is community. Ecosystem is imme. We are Where.
