The half-month rune is set by the runic calendar, and governs for a tad over two weeks (a fortnight). The intuitive stave (meaning, I draw it blind) indicates the life force most available to us, which brings the focus of the half-month rune into sharper focus for the present week. It suggests how we can handle these energies. The planetary stave (also a blind draw) indicates the state and needs of the planet, and where noted, of Nature, well beyond the earthly sphere. Over the last week, with Perthro we’ve brushed up against some great opportunities. We’ve also had solemn moments of realizing where we laid the groundwork for these opportunities–thus small fits of surprise and celebration–and also where we missed the mark. This second week in season with Perthro, our task is not to find fault with ourselves for where the dominoes didn’t fall into the pretty pattern we thought they would, but to come back to process.

At the end of it, when we see the results and can witness a modicum of triumph, often we’re so saturated in that moment, we forget how we got there. We recall the broad strokes of hard work, A + B, how it took forever, how lucky we were, how we got screwed, etc, but we don’t remember the finesse, how we had to hold on but loosely, with focus yet freedom, with dispassionate inspiration. Those internal nuances matter. We too easily ignore how pivotal the way we held ourselves was in the process of manifestation.

Take notes, this week.

Ehwaz reversed says our momentum to capture that process will be low. Usually the rune of drumming up support to take an endeavor to a deeper level, this week its reversed position flags. The effect is, we feel a bit meh about internalizing our wyrd weaving, yet we can’t count on external resources to help us. Across the board, the motivation will be pretty limited.

Doesn’t mean it isn’t doable, just that it will take a little extra heft to get ourselves in gear to do it. This isn’t a bad thing. We can’t always rely on inspiration to greet us. We can’t always expect our spiritual allies to pick up where we’ve left off. Do the deep breath, then dive in as deeply as possible, and claim the part of wyrd weaving that’s personal. Own it, so that when we’re back to the drawing board, we can be the boss.

The deeper rumbling voice giving insight into the planet’s state comes through Mannaz, this week. It nudges us to new ways of thinking, new social groups who can either instill or support that new way. Clarity on what needs support may be crystal, or it may be mud. The focus is on getting up and out, and making the effort (Fellow introverts: I groan with you.).

It is what it is, however. This week we have a lack of steam (Ehwaz reversed), yet clear need to stay the momentum of Perthro, and move that life force into new places (Mannaz). Ultimately, what’s asked for is mindfulness to our own processes. Surely we value ourselves enough to give it.
