For the week of 22 July 2018

An unclear destination is well-received

Uruz is the half-month stave through 29 July. Raidho reversed is the intuitive stave, and Gebo indicates Transition’s message to us. Read right to left is Uruz, Raidho reversed, then Gebo.

Thanks for following the public version of TWR! The  ad-free, full weekly runecast is available through Patreon.  It’s more detailed, including the current runes’ impact on human life force over the next week, insight on how to best manage the curves and twists therein, and introspective questions to help do the work the runes indicate. With a paid subscription, also receive TWR on Sunday instead of Monday, for as little as $5 a month!

The half-month rune is set by the runic calendar, and governs for a tad over two weeks (a fortnight). The intuitive stave (meaning, I draw it blind) indicates the life force most available to us, which brings the focus of the half-month rune into sharper focus for the present week. It suggests how we can handle these energies. The final rune (also drawn blind) provides a high overview of the current time, and speaks from different voices. I note who’s speaking each week.

A few people have asked the reason that I switch between different rune sets for TWR. The short answer is: because. The more nuanced answer is I ask which sets wants to speak for each week. I don’t assume the same elements are in play according to the timing of the runes; I also don’t assume the same elements of my runes are appropriate to speak each week.

Last week brought our first experience with Uruz, this year. The rune of body, it reminds us to stay on top of our self-care, which works from the inside out. One of the “Giant” runes, it hearkens back to Audhumla, the aurochs who created herself as our Feminine Divine (sort of). With that capability of self-awareness, focus, and manifestation innate to us all, Uruz provides a focal point to harness that energy for ourselves and get active.

This week, take time to realize what’s really calling to soul (of from?) and how to act on it. Set boundaries to allow and protect that selection process. This is the core message of Uruz. For this week, ask self what deep truth  needs to be expressed, what desire needs filling. Elect how to pursue it responsibly and with compassion for all involved.

Raidho reversed as the best way to express that unspoken drive suggests we hold our plans loosely. Folks often assume reversals mean the exact opposite of their upright meanings, which isn’t the case. It can mean there is complication around the rune. In this case “travel,” becomes complicated by not going as quickly as hoped, not taking the route that was planned, not having the experience of adventure that was sought.

This week, dig into the details, with regard to realizing a desire, and all the way it can come to be expressed. The caution here is to stay open, stay flexible. Attempting to project an outcome, how it should arise, the focus it should take–all will be pitfalls to the core need, which is each of us being more outwardly ourselves, well.

Gebo shines a dramatic and warm light on that potential in the form of partnership. What it put out will be well met. What is sacrificed in order to show up fully will be recognized. What is given will be reciprocated. These are the base laws of balance of Nature, and they are the backdrop for how our realization of living deep truth goes this week. It’s quite optimistic and can serve to quell some of the angst around what others will think.
