For the week of 6 May 2018

Go deeper to reach out.

Laguz is the half-month stave through 14 May. Ehwaz is the intuitive stave, and Sowilo indicates Nature’s message to us. Read right to left is Laguz, Ehwaz, then Sowilo.

The half-month rune is set by the runic calendar, and governs for a tad over two weeks (a fortnight). The intuitive stave (meaning, I draw it blind) indicates the life force most available to us, which brings the focus of the half-month rune into sharper focus for the present week. It suggests how we can handle these energies. The planetary stave (also a blind draw) indicates the state and needs of the planet, and where noted, of Nature, well beyond the earthly sphere.

If you’re curious about how I do the cast every week, catch a couple of my Instagram videos, which explain the intention behind The Weekly Rune, and what makes it different from other ways of casting.

Our first week with Laguz brought the opportunity to get in sync with the greater currents of life within and without, and to assess where these currents are the same. Where they aren’t reveals work to do, and this week’s insight tells us exactly where that work needs to be done, and the impact it will have.

Laguz is the rune that lets us know when we’re flowing with All Things. For a little over two weeks of the year, we get to know exactly what that feels like, and we’re winding up that second week, now. The natural occurrence of Laguz doesn’t mean life is easy or that our ability to know flow when we’re in it is well-honed. Our time with Laguz can be as much about clarifying our projections of flow and dispelling what we think it is, so that we can experience how it truly feels and shows up in our lives.

The nice part of finding flow this week is Ehwaz. The rune of taking things deeper visited us as the half-month rune a few weeks ago, so our practice with accessing that depth is still fresh. What we learned from tapping into that soul well we can now apply to a broader observation of the flow of life all around us. In fact, in the message speaking from the runes this week, we have to become skilled in doing this to truly understand why flow matters.

But before we get to that, spend some time developing how to connect with what needs personal focus, this week. Make the effort to connect, stand in the opening that’s created, remain open to what’s found there, and implement it. Ehwaz emphasizes our ability to take it deep. Sowilo presents the challenge that it’s our job to do something with it.

The voice of Nature is Sowilo, this week. Sowilo means “sun,” though the dynamic it presents is that of divinity. Our entire livelihood as beings depends on the sun. We live because of it, literally, and we thrive because of it, figuratively. We need brightness in our lives, somewhere.

This is the message of Sowilo: realize the brightness around us, and become that brightness for those surrounding us. It very much has a pay-it-forward take on divinity. That which shines on us we honor so that we may shine on others. In terms of Laguz’s message to identify and get into flow with Ehwaz giving us specific direction to accomplish this by first meeting flow at a spiritual level, Sowilo seals that engagement with a bestowal of blessing beyond ourselves. The implication is that if we can open ourselves to deeper connections and sources, we have that much more to share. We not only find that which we’re seeking, but learn how we are providers of what we sought.

Half-month Considerations

  • How do you honor the brightness in your life?
  • How do you shine on others?
  • How do you provide?

It’s a pretty good deal, over all. If you need help with any of it, feel free to email me. If you want some in-depth undivided time, feel free to schedule a session.

And thank you for what you do, here.
