The half-month rune is set by the runic calendar, and governs for a tad over two weeks (a fortnight). The intuitive stave (meaning, I draw it blind) indicates the life force most available to us, which brings the focus of the half-month rune into sharper focus for the present week. It suggests how we can handle these energies. The planetary stave (also a blind draw) indicates the state and needs of the planet, and where noted, of Nature, well beyond the earthly sphere.

Last week’s episode sheds a great deal of insight onto the dynamics in play with Ingwaz over the next two weeks, and may help facilitate how to deal with them better, overall.
Closing our time with Laguz, we’ve had ample opportunity to identify where we’re not in flow, figure out how to access flow, and gain some skills to carry forward in how to sustain that process, ongoing. It’s a good thing, because Ingwaz hits hard.
Not one of the dreaded runes, Ingwaz is usually related to the human triumph story of Tuisto’s legacy surviving through Mannaz. It translates to “people of Ing,” and conjures feelings of a tribe well-cared for and protected. What’s significant about that entire saga is the people of Ing are the result of a long, heart-rending struggle, which through no easy feat turned out well.
This deliverance of a long-sought awareness is the focus of Ingwaz. As I discussed on the latest podcast episode, this half-month visit culminates in the completion of the Ingwaz Initiation.
Our best effort with seeing the new awareness of Ingwaz off on its destiny is filtered through Perthro reversed. Perthro reversed points to our hopes outweighing the actual effort we’re putting in. We’re focused on pie-in-the sky dreams, and not so much the leg work of creating them. Or maybe effort isn’t lacking, but a need to look at the flat-out wrong approach for an outcome we crave. Something in the formula isn’t working, and the only one who can shed light on what that is or possibly why is us. Given that, this rune is about blind spots, learning to identify them, and breaking out of our patterning to address them. It’s a pretty tall order, really.
Luckily Sowilo tags along with us in that endeavor. The voice of Nature this week urges us to stay in our power. Remember that which empowers us, and let that divinity be reflected back on everything we do. It’s a very simple act, really, to be divine. It sounds excellent on the surface, though holding that bright aspect of ourselves often reveals the deepest Shadow work.
Indeed, it isn’t the dark parts of ourselves that are often Shadow, but the really gorgeous, empowered ones. They’re the ones we hesitate to share, or question our own authority on them. This week, our job is to realize the manifestation of something we brought to fruition over the last 6 months, celebrate it, and let it move on to its destiny–all while coping well with the feels and reals that process brings up. It could go wonderfully smoothly, or it could poke and prod a bit.
Regardless, we’ve got this. Work resources, learn skills, change habits. Do what’s tapping on the shoulder, and respond to the call of mature leveling up the best way possible.
