Before you were born, your people walked this earth.

    And She kept record.

Not the way we keep records — with selective history, with and without mercy, with the need to make meaning. Land keeps record the way only something ancient can: completely, without editorial.
    Land holds all of it.

Consider what we know biologically: Body return to elements. We decompose into soil. We exhale into atmosphere. We dissolve into water. Land where we walk, air we breathe, water we drink — the Ancestors are these things. Not metaphorically. Literally.

You have breathed your great-grandmother. You are made of people who loved each other–and people who did terrible things–centuries before you were conceived.

In land’s own consciousness — slow, vast, non-linear — lineages are remembered. So when you arrive, land already knows you. Not your name. Something older. Land recognizes the signature of your line.

This is why certain places feel like recognition rather than discovery. Why you can stand somewhere you’ve never been and feel: my people were here.
Because they were. And land never forgot.

Land holds the full moral complexity of our species without flinching. The blood we’ve spilled. The climate we’ve unmade. The songs pressed into soil, the prayers, the seeds saved and passed down, every way we have ever loved.

Land does not forgive or condemn. Land simply knows.

You are never unseen. When you step outside, something that has known your line longer than your family has kept its own name looks back at you.

You did not arrive here unknown. You were already held.

If you want to learn how to reconnect with land, I can help you do that. Tending Here sessions help you shape aninistic awareness, and allow us to create rituals uniquely for you and your ecosystem to engage. Book your session here.
